Water source capacities (in millions of units per month):
600 Water Tower
1500 Water Pump (must be near fresh water)
5000 Desalination Plant (must be adjacent to salt water)
Water source life expectancies (in years):
130 Water Tower
110 Water Pump
100 Desalination Plant
Water pump effectiveness versus distance from water:
100% 1 tile from water (can be diagonal).
20% 2 tiles from water.
0% More than 2 tiles from water.
Pipes will water buildings whose centres are within 7 tiles. Pipes are 100% efficient (no losses due to leaks, pressure, distance, number of pipes, etc.).
Amount of water consumed by each building (in millions of units per month):
Building Per Tile Total

All water consumptions above are lowered by ordinances as follows:
10% Water Conservation
5% Water Meters
Running your water system is easy. All of your water sources combined must produce more water than your buildings demand. If you experience a water shortage (and your pipes have everything connected), simply add more water sources. Any changes will not become active until the end of the month. Also, there are no seasonal fluctuations in the water system.
