Variation on a cloverleaf #0809
Updated: 8/17/01 OS/platforms(s): All Versions: All

Contributor/author(s): Tony Padgett

I thought I would try a little variation on Cody Goodman's cloverleaf highway interchange system (see related article below) to get some smoother curves. This interchange is really only good if you have a large city and plenty of room to spare. Cody's cloverleaf is a 14x14 grid. Mine is 24x24.

I started by closing off a 24x24 grid by using a road. Then I put down 4 strips of highway, one on each side in the middle (see photo), each one being 14 tiles long. This left a space of 5 tiles on each end.

I then pulled the highway from one corner to another to get a smooth long curve. To me this is much more realistic. Once I had the curves done I ran a section of highway down the middle of each end and put it onramps at every connecting point. I then added a curving road around it with some more onramps making it a full interchange system. Hope you like it.
