SimCity History: Contents
When SimCity (now known as "SimCity Classic") was introduced in the late 1980s, the computer gaming industry scoffed. People wanted to know who would sit down and play something that didn't offer any fighting, war, or bloodshed. It seemed like a bad idea at the time.
Despite the odds, the program sold over five million copies, creating a devoted following of SimFanatics. A building game, SimCity gave players the power to build their own towns or metropolises, where the only limit was the player's imagination and the amount of funds in their treasury. Since then, Maxis has been fine-tuning the simulation for each new generation of computers, in the never-ending quest to build the greatest city simulator ever.
